ISRIC - World Soil Information is an independent, science-based foundation. ISRIC has a mission to serve the international community with information about the world’s soil resources to help addressing major global issues.

ISRIC produces and serves quality-assured soil information together with our partners at global, regional and national levels. ISRIC stimulates the use of this information to address global challenges such as improved food security, land degradation and climate change mitigation through capacity building, awareness raising and direct cooperation with users and clients. ISRIC has been elected in 2017 to host the soil data facility for the Global Soil Partnership (GSP). For 25 years ISRIC is a consortium member of the World Overview of Conservation Approaches and Technologies (WOCAT). ISRIC is a member of Global Open Data on Agriculture and Nutrition (GODAN) and co-chairs the GODAN Working Group on Soils focusing on interoperability of soil databases for better policy & investment decisions and risk mitigation.
