The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands works to promote Dutch values around the world. The embassies, consulates and permanent representations in around 150 countries function as political antennae and voices abroad.
The Ministry works to promote prosperity and fairness, security and stability, and justice and freedom around the world. It coordinates and carries out Dutch foreign policy, working with foreign governments and international organisations. The Dutch development cooperation policy works towards global stability and security and to foster human rights, focused around security and the rule of law, water management, food security, and sexual and reproductive health rights.
