2010 baseline water stress in cropland areas. Baseline water stress measures the ratio of total annual water withdrawals to total available annual renewable supply, accounting for upstream consumptive use. Consumptive use is the portion of withdrawn water that evaporates or is incorporated into a product and is thus no longer available for downstream use.  Higher values indicate more competition among users.
